Inquiry- The Driving Force for Learning
We often ask questions about how students |
On Monday 23rd May 2016 Science peripatetic teachers, Mr Chris Buttigieg and Ms Isabel Zerafa, conducted a professional development session for all the teaching community. The aim of this session, Engaging Little Minds - Hands-On Science in Early and Primary Years, was to encourage teachers and Kindergarten Assistants to focus more on student inquiry as the driving force for learning. This kind of inquiry-based Science is a student-centred process that encourages learners to be more independant. Insight was given on The Little Scientist House Foundation which aims to help educators integrate Science, Technology and Maths in their classroom. The school staff participated in hands-on activities promoting both free and guided exploration.
