Besides, there is also an increasing number of students who, due to family reasons, have moved to our school from other primary schools around the island.
Physical Aspect
The teaching and administration areas consist of three blocks joined together in the shape of a U, all having two levels. The block facing Main Street caters for the Public Library, the School Library, a class for after-school activities, a Breakfast Club room and an office for the school Assistant Head. These rooms are all on the ground floor. On the first floor of the same block one finds and office used by the College Psycho-social Team, two rooms used as Year 1 classes, a Year 2 classroom and a Year 3 classrooms.
The administration block facing the big yard caters for the offices of the school clerk, the Head of School and 4 kindergarten classrooms, which are found on the ground floor. The first floor of the same block caters for a four classrooms for the Junior Years (Yrs 4-6) and two specialised classrooms used for the teaching of Science, Music and P.S.C.D.
The two above-mentioned blocks are joined together by an adjoining block that caters for a kindergarten class, a school store, a clinic and a minor staff room. The first floor of the same block caters a minor staff room, a small storage area, an Art Room and a classroom used for complementary education. As an extension of the same block and facing Main Street one also finds a sizeable workshop on the ground floor where the general hands carry out all the daily school maintenance works.
On the school premises there are four playing areas. However, only two of them are used during break times. The smaller one is used for Kindergarten and Early Years students. This has been laid with synthetic turf. The largest playing area, facing the Head's Office, is used by the Year 4-6 students during their breaks and P.E. sessions. During recent years this area has been re-surfaced and, during 2015, covered with rubber flooring.
Dingli Primary School also prides itself of a multi-purpose hall, which can be reached from the main administration block through a corridor extension. In this this corridor one finds a small room used as a staff room, a P.E. equipment room and a school store. The school hall, with a seating capacity of about 350 persons, is equipped with a professional sound and light system, a big screen (5m x 5m) and a short throw projector. It is used for for educational and entertainment purposes both during school hours for such events such as the annual Celebration Day, seminars/talks for parents, religious activities and other school extra-curricular activities. After school hours, the school hall is used by the Dingli Local Council for such activities for parents as aerobics, zumba, Pilates, etc.
